Church Gone Wild

Church Gone Wild

In Acts chapter 18, Paul visited and stayed for a few years in a city that can only be compared to modern day Las Vegas. The city of Corinth was wild. It was out of control in every way and Paul helped start a church there. Several years later, Paul got word that the church was imitating the culture around it and was also out of control. It truly was a “church gone wild” which shows up most evidently in an absolute lack of concern for one another. With fatherly intentions, Paul wrote to them bluntly, poignantly, and hopefully to correct them, discipline them, and point them to a better way which involves being concerned for one another in everything. The words Paul wrote to the Corinthian church are just as relevant today as when he wrote them.

House Party

October 4-5, 2014 | Teaching Pastor - Scott Nickell

The Church at Corinth was living by the mantra “If it makes you happy do it. If it doesn't, don't. It's that simple." Paul in a very fatherly way confronted this mentality and pointed out how it was tearing their church apart.

End of Days

End of Days

When life is hard, painful, and difficult, sometimes the only thing that will keep you going is the hope that a day is coming when things will get better. Paul writes two letters to some Christians who live in a city called Thessalonica with one message: Don’t give up. Jesus is coming soon.
