INTENTION: This trip is focused on developing relationships of encouragement, support, curiosity, and fun working alongside Musana’s staff, students, and community leaders, in addition to members of a short-term team. Participants will gain an understanding of Musana’s unique community empowerment and sustainability model while experiencing the beauty of Ugandan hospitality and culture. While participants will bring their expertise to a cross-cultural setting, emphasis is placed on empowering and encouraging students and local leaders and supporting Musana in their work in the local community. Participants have an opportunity to begin to discover how God would like to use them around the world and how they might bring lessons from this experience to their vocations at home, all while becoming Musana’s advocates and friends.

WHO: Those with skilled backgrounds in electrical, plumbing, welding, construction, and mechanical professions, as well as skilled tailors, seamstresses, or jewelry artisans are encouraged to apply. All participants should come with a curiosity to learn about who Musana is and how they partner with local communities, feel strongly about encouraging the role local community leaders play, have the willingness to be led by field staff, a heart to teach but also to learn, and have a passion to discover how a cross-cultural experience might impact their vocational practice at home. Above all else, participants should have a strong desire to exemplify Jesus in all they do.
