PARENT BIBLE STUDY

Read Daniel 6

Daniel stood firm on his faith, even in the face of opposition from powerful people. Daniel was in an influential and high position in the eyes of King Darius. But those around him felt threatened by him. Because of his good character, they couldn’t find anything negative to bring to the king to get rid of him, so they manipulated King Darius into writing a law that would incriminate Daniel. But despite all that he could lose, Daniel refused to conform, and his resolve took him to a den of lions. In that den, Daniel faced death head on with bravery and calm. God met Daniel in the lions’ den, and he came out in one piece. His bravery, and God’s goodness, ignited a faith in King Darius, who, after seeing Daniel alive at the bottom of the lions’ den, said this:

“For he is the living God, and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions,” Daniel 6:26-27.

Daniel’s bravery inspired King Darius’ repentance and his faith.
