Now that we know why we read the Bible, let's open up this incredible book! Get some notecards from your family and starting finding some Bible verses you love. Write them on the notecards and place them all over your house!

Group Q&A

  1. Why is building a house on a rock wise?  (Because it is more solid ground.)
  2. Why is reading the Bible like building a house on a rock? (Doing what God says to do is like building a house on a rock. The Bible is a strong foundation for our lives.)
  3. What did you think about the video we watched? (Let kids respond.)
  4. What did the wise man do that was different from the foolish man? What does that mean? (He built his house on a rock; he was trying to live his life for Jesus.)
  5. Why do people read the Bible? (Discuss. To understand God’s story for all people, to learn a better way to live, to build our lives on something steady.)
