Saul Hears from Jesus - Week 2

May 2-3, 2020 |

In this four-week series, kids will learn that God sent the Holy Spirit to help us. God’s spirit helps us understand his word and remember the teachings of Jesus. His spirit gives us faith and prompts us to serve others. And the Holy Spirit unites all kinds of people with his love and the good news of Jesus.

Story activity

God sent us an amazing helper, the Holy Spirit! To better understand today's lesson, print out and read the following activity sheet. Gather your friends and family to learn how God wants us to help others, just like the Holy Spirit!

Can you be more helpful than Helping Hans? Prove it by gathering a friend or family member and filling out this dot-to-dot drawing! Print off enough drawings for each person and help each other fill out the drawing. But here's the catch: the drawer will be blindfolded while their friend tells them where to go. Have fun and try to be more helpful than Hans!

GROUP Q&A
  1. What was Saul like before a voice spoke to him from heaven? (He didn’t want anyone following Jesus. He would throw them in jail or sometimes hurt them.)
  2. What did the voice say? (Why are you hurting me?)
  3. How was Saul hurting Jesus? (He was hurting people who were following Jesus.)
  4. How do you think Ananias felt when God told him to go visit Saul? (Let kids respond.)
  5. How was Saul different after he could see again? (He stopped hurting followers of Jesus and decided to follow Jesus himself.)
  6. After Saul decided to follow Jesus the Holy Spirit came to live inside of him. The Holy Spirit was Saul’s helper and helped him be the person God made him to be. How can the Holy Spirit be our helper? (The Holy Spirit can help me be the person God made me to be.)
