Group Overview

As we continue the series “Thrift Store Jesus”, we will be talking about Jesus as the Messiah. Jesus came to heal a lost and broken world, but He didn’t do it how people thought He would. He first heals the sin and brokenness in our own lives so that we can partner with Him in healing a lost and broken world.

Announcements

Camp sign-ups are still happening. Middle School camp is FULL so make sure to get signed up for the waitlist. Make sure to sign up for High School Camp (this includes current 8^th graders)!

Ice Breaker

Just check in with students – try to have everyone share 1 high and 1 low from this last week.

Discussion Questions

1. What stood out to you from the video teaching today?
2. Aaron said that The Chosen One has chosen you. What do you think this means? Why is it important?
3. When we are in the family of God, we join in the mission of God to help heal a lost and broken world. What part do you have to play in doing this?
4. The Church is the hope of the world. How can our church/youth group bring hope to a lost and broken world? (Help students get practical. Try to get them to dream about what they would love to see their youth group do to help people…if appropriate, remind students that they are the church and they can lead in doing this.)
