Wasted Time - Week 1

April 4-5, 2020 | By Student Ministry

This week, we speak specifically to the tole the last couple weeks has taken on us. Students are experiencing loss, and grief, boredom, and loneliness. Talk about fear and faith in uncertainty. All the time spent at home when we wish we were somewhere else can start to feel like a waste of time. While it may feel that way, the truth is there’s no such thing as wasted time in the Kingdom of Heaven and God can leverage all of the sacrifice, loss, and “wasted time” we’re experiencing. Join us this week as we explore that idea together.

TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER

  1. Do you remember the first purchase you made with your own money? Why was that exchange so memorable?
  2. What do you know about the Kingdom of Heaven?
  3. What does it mean that things are upside down or backwards in the Kingdom of Heaven?
  4. What does it mean that there’s no such thing as wasted time in the Kingdom of Heaven?
  5. What have you lost due to circumstances around COVID-19 or what feels like wasted time?
  6. Read Romans 8:28. How have you seen God take it and use it for something good? If you haven’t yet, how can you hold on to hope that he will?
